The link between Burundi and Bromma...

It might be tenuous, but it exists. In this blog, it is represented by Dogs posing with Burundian sunflower:
Gina's Milton with potted sunflower For Milton, a sunflower appears to be just that; a plant.
Not everyone has learned the art of posing as well as Milton:

Simba with sunflowers.Simba's gaze is fixed on the innocent plantlings, waiting for an opportunity to attack and devour.
The next link is more connected with Tanzania than with Burundi. This plant with lovely orange flowers grew on a tree trunk lying across the path that led up the lower slopes of Mount Meru, encouraging me to struggle on:

Does anyone know the name of the plant?

Then, to my surprise, I found the same plant in a flower and vegetable shop around the corner from where I work (is there a message in there somewhere?). It now lives on my balcony, where it struggles against the conditions in a Stockholm that is shivering through its coldest June in 84 years.

No blog entry without a Simba.
